Your boss could soon be fined for contacting you after hours under new legislation in California. If the bill becomes law, any employer that violates it could face a fine of at least $100. At least 10 other countries including France, Canada and Portugal have laws supporting workers' "right to disconnect." The bill only regulates employers in California, so remote workers in California reporting to out-of-state employers are not counted in the bill. Instead, he hopes it encourages employers to have "transparent, upfront" conversations with employees about when and how they work.

Wealthy U.S. families are increasingly applying for second citizenships and national residences as a way to hedge their financial risk, according to a leading law firm. The wealthy are building these "passport portfolios" — collections of second, and even third or fourth, citizenships — in case they need to flee their home country. "The U.S. is still a great country, it's still an amazing passport," said Dominic Volek, group head of private clients at Henley & Partners. Instead, many wealthy Americans are shopping around for an added visa or citizenship program to supplement their U.S. passport. According to Henley, the top destinations for supplemental passports among Americans are Portugal, Malta, Greece and Italy.

But the next total solar eclipse won’t occur until August 12, 2026, said Amir Caspi, a principal scientist at the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado. The next total eclipse in the USThe US won’t catch a glimpse of a total solar eclipse again until March 30, 2033, and even then the Russia-centric path includes only Alaska, with totality lasting 2 minutes and 37 seconds. A partial solar eclipse will shine over most of the country during that celestial event. The next total solar eclipse with a coast-to-coast path spanning the Lower 48 states will occur on August 12, 2045.

I started my Etsy store in 2020 to make money on the side — just enough to pay a phone bill or two. It prompted me to start an Etsy store selling customized digital pet portraits. I'd make text-based designs on Canva and use Printify, a print-on-demand store linked to my Etsy store, to make and send them to customers. My day job made me really angry, prompting me to focus on building my store. Etsy works best if you keep uploading items for saleI spent between two and three hours a day uploading new designs.

Portugal's far-right Chega party on Sunday received a surge in support in the country's snap general election, reflecting a broader shift to the radical right across Europe. Portugal's center-right Democratic Alliance claimed victory in the vote, winning 79 seats in the country's 230-seat National Assembly — well short of a parliamentary majority. The incumbent center-left Socialist Party followed closely behind with 77 seats. The result — which saw the parliamentary representation of the Chega party quadruple to at least 48 lawmakers — gives the political right a combined majority.
